2017 年加密貨幣與公開代幣發行回顧

加密貨幣（cryptocurrency）又稱為「虛擬貨幣（virtual currency）」或「數位貨幣（digital currency）」，是使用區塊鏈（blockchain）技術所創造出來的貨幣，它基本上是由許多電腦科學（computer science）的演算法所創造出來的程式，並不是實體的硬幣或紙鈔，因此稱為「虛擬（virtual）」，也因為它使用了許多加密演算法，因此稱為「加密（crypto）」，關於比特幣與區塊鏈的技術細節，請讀者自行參考《科學月刊》2017 年11 月第575 期的詳細介紹。

首次代幣發行

首次代幣發行（Initial Coin Offering, ICO）是指新創公司經由區塊鏈平台，公司首次將它的代幣（coin 或 token）賣給投資人（個人或法人）來募集公司營運所需要的資金。私人公司經由這個過程轉化成什麼呢？其實在法律上它什麼也不是，只是在公開的區塊鏈平台上可以查到這家公司而已。而投資人以其他加密貨幣（例如：比特幣或以太幣）來交換私人公司的代幣，通俗的說就是「以代幣換代幣」，由於直接以加密貨幣交換法定貨幣可能涉及違法吸金，因此這種交易類似「以物易物」，很巧妙地規避了法律上的問題。

2017 年加密貨幣市場回顧

2017 年可以說是加密貨幣最精彩的一年，比特幣由2017年初約1 比特幣（btc）兌換100 美元，狂漲到2017 年底約19000 美元，漲幅將近200 倍，卻又在2018 年初暴跌到大約8000 美元，大量的投資客與投機客湧入加密貨幣市場，讓這種看不見摸不著的「虛擬貨幣」瞬間炙手可熱，同時也讓更多廠商搶著到區塊鏈平台上發行自己的加密貨幣，加密貨幣種類一下子暴增到超過1500種之多，大部分公司不但沒有獲利、甚至只是寫了一份企劃書而已，就能夠讓自己發行的加密貨幣跟著大盤上漲，有的還帶動了公司股價上漲，例如：已經申請破產的傳統相機廠商柯達公司（Kodak）宣布推出「柯達幣（Kodakcoin）」，協助攝影師與版權機構作出更有效的影像權管理，消息公布後柯達股價一度暴漲77%，就是一個例子。

2008 年由日裔美國人中本聰（Sotashi，筆名，真實姓名待確認）發表了一篇名為《比特幣：一種對等式的電子現金系統》的論文，經由電腦科學的演算法所創造出來的程式「節點軟體（node software）」與「比特幣帳本（Bitcoin ledger）」，建立了可以不經由金融機構就能在交易雙方之間直接傳送的「比特幣（Bitcoin, BTC）」，是目前知名度與市場總值最高的加密貨幣。

要獲得比特幣有兩種途徑，一種是自行架設電腦經由數學運算找到滿足特定條件的「區塊（block）」來儲存「交易（transaction）」，就可以得到比特幣獎勵金，這個行為稱為「挖礦」，而進行挖礦的人稱為「礦工」；另外一種是直接拿法定貨幣（例如：美金）到加密貨幣交易所兌換比特幣，正是因為有人願意拿19000 美元兌換1比特幣（btc），才會造成比特幣的暴漲。

比特幣是第一個加密貨幣，為了維持比特幣的總量避免通貨膨脹問題，比特幣數量上限為2100 加密貨幣會取代傳統貨幣？萬個，採礦難度高發行數量少是它維持高價格的重要原因，但是比特幣所使用的規則老舊，為了維持大約每10 分鐘採出一個區塊，產生新區塊的難度會定期調整，每採出2016 個區塊（大約兩週）會自動調整接下來2016 個區塊的採礦難度，比特幣的區塊大約1 MB，一筆交易大約256 B，一個區塊大約儲存4096 筆交易，平均每秒最多只能處理7 筆交易（4096 筆交易∕600 秒= 6.82），和目前廣泛使用的VISA 這樣能夠每秒處理數萬次交易的支付系統相差很多，大家想想，每秒鐘「全世界」最多只能處理7 筆交易，怎麼可能應付我們日常生活頻繁的小額交易？因此比特幣不適合即時大量的小額交易，或者說比特幣根本不可能取代傳統貨幣，為了改善這些缺點，後來才產生了「比特幣現金（Bitcoin Cash, BCH）」。
